The evolution of our Galaxy has been a subject of extensive studies over the past decades. A qualitative understanding of its major building blocks is now in place. Yet, the detailed history of the Milky Way remains elusive, placing a hard limit on the level of understanding that one may gain from galaxy formation simulations and their predictions. The recent discovery and characterisation of Galactic overdensities has transformed the field, suggesting that Galacto-seismology is a promising avenue to learn about the past. I will present some of the observational and theoretical results obtained by our group in this direction. Our measurements provide evidence for the non-equilibrium evolution of the disc, following its interaction with a massive satellite galaxy. I will put our results into the context of the recent findings by APOGEE and Gaia, and highlight prospects for future studies.
