Applications are open for PhD positions at the Strasbourg Astronomical Observatory.
Potential candidates are invited to view the summaries of the corresponding research projects on the following two web pages (different sources of funding) :
- The thesis page of the doctoral school Ecole Doctorale de Physique et Chimie Physique (5 projects, deadline for application May 26, 2015, 12:00 CET)
- The thesis offer in theoretical high energy pulsar astrophysics at Strasbourg Observatory (deadline June 1, 2015)
Important notes:
* Well before applying, it is important to interact directly with the potential PhD supervisors. Their support in the process is essential.
* Some projects are described in French only. However, it is always possible to obtain information in English by contacting the listed project supervisors directly.
* The selection process is competitive. Whether or not a project is funded depends on the results of this competition between applicants.
* It is not possible at this time to apply for projects others than those listed above, except if the application comes with an external source of funding. Readers who wish to prepare a PhD within Strasbourg Observatory should contact the Director and discuss possibilities for future rounds of applications.
