A broad range of research topics are studied by the researchers of the Strasbourg astronomical Observatory: stellar physics, compact objects and black holes, and their extreme environment, the interstellar medium, nearby galaxies, including the Milky Way, the evolution of galaxies, and the cosmology and reionisation of the Universe.
