The DR6 of the XMM-Newton catalogue plublished in 2016 contains nearly half a million X-ray sources, many of which have been observed multiple times.
The XMM catalogues are the largest X-ray source catalogues in existence and are a premier archive for conducting homogeneous population analyses or searching for extreme objects. The construction and properties of these catalogues were described in Rosen et al. 2016.
