The central few kpc of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, are dominated by the gravitational field of the Galactic bar. This talk describes dynamical models of the bar and box/peanut bulge, and what we have learnt from them about the dynamical structure, the distribution of stellar and dark matter mass, and the spatial and orbital distributions of the Galactic stellar populations. Based on recent dynamical models of M31, the Andromeda galaxy, I will also compare the Milky Way bulge with the composite (classical and box/peanut) bulge of M31.
