I will very briefly talk about the basic assumptions behind the Monte Carlo method and discuss why this method is so fast and flexible for large star cluster simulations. I will also very briefly introduce the new, proposed by me and my collaborators, scenario for intermediate mass black hole (IMBH) formation in star clusters. This scenario is based on the results of the Monte Carlo MOCCA simulations of about 2000 models (MOCCA Survey). Most of the time I will devote to discuss the expected observational properties of IMBHs based on the new scenario.
