Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical High-Energy Astrophysics
The High-Energy group of the Astronomical Observatory in Strasbourg, France, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of theoretical astrophysics and high-energy plasma physics. The successful candidate will work with Pétri Jérôme and Baty Hubert on numerical simulations of pulsar magnetospheres and winds as well as on relativistic magnetic reconnection phenomena.
Candidates should have a strong background in at least one of the following areas of high-energy astrophysics: pulsar and plasma physics, magnetic reconnection, high-energy radiation processes and numerical simulations.
A Ph.D. in astrophysics or a closely related field is required, preferably obtained within the last two years. The position is available from as soon as possible and the fellowship will be initially for two years.
Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae including a list of publications and a letter detailing their research interest to Pétri Jérôme (jerome.petri@astro.unistra.fr). The deadline for applications is December 31st 2013.
