I am a PhD student and a member of the LADUMA (Looking at the Distant Universe with the MeerKAT Array) collaboration. My current research focuses on the automatic detection of the HI gas line in massive data from pre-Square Kilometre Array (SKA) surveys. The aim of my PhD is to produce high-confidence detection catalogues using deep learning on big data from SKA precursors and pathfinders, confirm as many candidates as possible, and ultimately analyze the detections statistically and physically.
